The Dodge Durango SRT has a standard driver’s side knee airbag mounted low on the dashboard. The knee airbag helps prevent the driver from sliding under the seatbelts or the main frontal airbag; this keeps the driver better positioned during a collision for maximum protection. A knee airbag also helps keep the legs from striking the dashboard, preventing knee and leg injuries in the case of a serious frontal collision. The Urus doesn’t offer knee airbags.

The Durango SRT has standard Active Head Restraints, which use a specially designed headrest to protect the driver and front passenger from whiplash. During a rear-end collision, the Active Head Restraints system moves the headrests forward to prevent neck and spine injuries. The Urus doesn’t offer a whiplash protection system.

Dodge’s powertrain warranty covers the Durango SRT 2 years longer than Lamborghini covers the Urus. Any repair needed on the engine, transmission, axles, joints or driveshafts is fully covered for 5 years or 60,000 miles. Coverage on the Urus ends after only 3 years.

There are over 60 times as many Dodge dealers as there are Lamborghini dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the Durango SRT’s warranty.

The Dodge Durango SRT’s engine uses a cast iron block for durability, while the Urus’ engines use an aluminum block. Aluminum engine blocks are much more prone to warp and crack at high temperatures than cast iron.

The Durango SRT’s 6.2 supercharged V8 produces 53 more horsepower (710 vs. 657) and 18 lbs.-ft. more torque (645 vs. 627) than the Urus’ standard 4.0 turbo V8. The Durango SRT’s 6.2 supercharged V8 produces 55 lbs.-ft. more torque (645 vs. 590) than the Urus SE’s standard 4.0 turbo V8 hybrid.

An engine control system that can shut down some of the engine’s cylinders helps improve the Durango SRT’s fuel efficiency. The Urus doesn’t offer a system that can shut down part of the engine.

The Durango SRT has 2.1 gallons more fuel capacity than the Urus (24.6 vs. 22.5 gallons), for longer range between fill-ups.

For better traction, the Durango SRT has larger tires than the Urus (295/45R20 vs. 285/45R21). The Durango SRT’s tires are larger than the largest tires available on the Urus (295/45R20 vs. 285/35R23).

Changing a flat tire near traffic can be dangerous and inconvenient. The run-flat tires standard on the Durango SRT can be driven up to 50 miles without any air pressure, allowing you to drive to a service station for a repair. The Urus doesn’t offer run-flat tires.

For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the Durango SRT’s wheelbase is 1.6 inches longer than on the Urus S (119.8 inches vs. 118.2 inches).

The Durango SRT uses computer-generated active noise cancellation to help remove annoying noise and vibration from the passenger compartment, especially at low frequencies. The Urus doesn’t offer active noise cancellation.
